Celebrity Mother's Day Gig

Played at a celebrity studded Mother's Day brunch this past Sunday and while I can't tell you whose estate it was at (I'm sworn to secrecy), I can share that there were lots of musicians, composers and music lovers as guests. They loved us so much they even had us stay and play for an extra 2 hours!

Mothers Day Trio Gig

This is one of my favorite trio configurations (pictured here with Stephanie Bennett on Harp and Harry Gilbert on Cello)! I love it because we can play music from Classical to Jazz and Rock to everything in between.

"Celtic Fantasia" Premiere with M.E.S.T.O.

On Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, Laura gave the premiere performance "Celtic Fantasia", a concerto for flute and orchestra composed by harpist, Stephanie Bennett and commissioned by Nabil Azzam, musical director of the M.E.S.T.O. Orchestra, specifically to feature his orchestra's principal flutist.

In composing "Celtic Fantasia" Stephanie Bennett set out to explore the unique multi-ethinic capabilites of this orchestra, which in turn made special demands on its soloist as well. Across the duration of the piece, it was necessary for Laura to play seven different flutes, ranging from Penny Whistle to Piccolo. The concert took place at Zipper Hall in dowtown Los Angeles.
